The modernization and expansion of Opportunity Elementary School was designed to improve student safety and meet Central Valley School District's educational goals and objectives. The project included a complete modernization of the existing 1968's vintage 42,000 square foot school. A 31,000 square foot addition was also constructed, providing a new gymnasium, additional classroom space and a new community art room. The project was phased, allowing students to remain in the building the entire time construction was taking place.
"I did a walk-through of Opportunity Elementary and must say the design and quality of build simply took my breath away. What a gift the ALSC team has given to the community; the quality of the learning environment through design and materials will benefit thousands of students yet to come. As a community members and retired CVSD educator, please know how much your skills and services are appreciated."
Mike Pearson, (former) Superintendent, Central Valley School District
