The design of this new 120,000 SF middle school provides educational parity with Northwood Middle School (also designed by ALSC) and responds to the unique neighborhood and site influences of the Five Mile Prairie.
The school is divided into smaller learning communities for each grade in order to improve safety and create a sense of community.
Since the District moved 6th grade students from elementary schools into middle schools upon completion of this project, the building’s layout addressed concerns from parents related to moving younger students into a middle school setting.
