This new recreation center provides a much needed "heart of the community" via a series of social and recreational spaces for a rapidly growing population.
The 45,000 SF facility includes a gymnasium, child watch area, and a natatorium featuring an indoor lap pool, recreation pool, hot tub and sauna. The second floor includes a fitness center with studio space for hosting group exercise classes such as Pilates, yoga, karate, and spin.
Development of 7.5 acres of surrounding land includes several multi-purpose playing fields.
The project was delivered via progressive design-build, an approach to project team integration that is growing in popularity. The integration of the owner, design team, contractors, and suppliers working side-by-side during the design phase yielded excellent value for every dollar spent on the project. This delivery method also facilitated a fast-track approach to construction.
