This new 58,500 square foot elementary school was designed to replace an existing school in a residential neighborhood. The use of brick, window forms, accents of metal and glass provide a timeless character and emphasize the school's importance as a civic and public building for the community. The exterior and interior character relates to its park-like setting through the use of natural colors and materials.
A vital part of the building’s mission is to honor Green Building Practices. The school was designed with environmentally sustainable measures to achieve LEED Silver Certification. This benefits the School District by lowering energy and maintenance costs, providing a teaching tool for students and creating a healthy educational environment.
