For over 100 years, Spokane’s Franklin Elementary School has provided an excellent education to tens of thousands of students and served as a community gathering place.
This project includes the thoughtful restoration and expansion of the original 1909 building, which is on the National Register of Historic Places. Portions of the existing building are being remodeled, and a 52,000 square foot addition was designed to complement the existing building’s design. The project includes the removal of portable classrooms, upgrades to playgrounds and landscaping, improved traffic flow and expanded parking.
Franklin’s students are attending school at an alternative location during construction, which will be completed in late Fall of 2018.
