ALSC Architects has appointed Indy Dehal, AIA, as its new president and CEO. Dehal has been a long-time principal and design leader at the firm, with over 23 years of experience. His passion for excellence, commitment to creating iconic structures that stand the test of time, and dedication to pursuing ambitious design goals are unparalleled and have prepared him for this position.

“This is an exciting time not only for me, but for the entire firm, as we collectively set our sights on the future of ALSC Architects, our industry, and our community as a whole,” says Dehal. “As architects, we carry an immense responsibility of creating spaces that have a vast impact and reach which affects more than just the buildings we design. By prioritizing partnerships with our clients, the communities they serve, and others who play a role in the building process, ALSC Architects is not only developing innovative solutions but working towards making our designs resilient and adaptable to a changing world.”

Dehal taking on the role of president and CEO marks the passing of the leadership torch from Rustin Hall, who has served in the firm’s top role since 2008. During his tenure as CEO, Hall strategically developed ALSC Architects into a position of leadership within the community and architecture industry by expanding its expertise in higher education, healthcare, and urban development under his direction.

“Beyond his design prowess, Indy is known for developing and managing relationships, as well as empowering others,” says Hall, who will continue at ALSC in a principal role. “As president and CEO, he will work tirelessly to showcase and mentor the exceptional design talent within the firm and push our team to think creatively and strategically alongside our clients. ALSC Architects is well-positioned for growth under Dehal’s leadership.”

Indy's lifelong commitment to serving others through his leadership has been an unshakable part of his character. Over two decades ago, Indy took the initiative to lead high school youth on Sundays and mission trips to various destinations, such as Mexico, West Africa, Belize, and even dedicating his efforts to aid hurricane relief in New Orleans after Katrina. Today, Indy's passion for service manifests itself through his involvement in various organizations. At Life Center Church, he dedicatedly mentors young couples to prepare them for the journey of marriage. Indy actively serves on the boards of esteemed organizations such as the Spokane County Library Foundation, WSU Spokane Advisory Council, WSU School of Architecture Capstone Mentor. As a proud member of the local chapter of C12, Indy fervently shares and cultivates his faith, constantly striving to expand his spiritual horizons.

With 23 years of experience in design and architecture, Indy has worked on projects ranging from ground-up new construction to historic renovations and adaptive reuse of existing buildings. He is a registered architect in Washington, Idaho, and Montana. His approach to design is a collaborative one, as he believes that effective design must be rooted in a deep understanding of the client’s mission and values.

As CEO, Dehal will continue focusing on design excellence, executing the firm’s mission of bringing our clients’ stories to life, while continuing to grow the firm’s vision of designing innovative architecture and giving back to our community. Dehal has a deep understanding of the firm’s values, client relationships, and the importance of staying at the forefront of design trends and technological advancements.

“As ALSC’s new CEO, I look forward to working with our clients, colleagues, and industry partners to develop new solutions to emerging challenges,” says Dehal.
